An illustrated monograph on the work of press photographer Bert Hardy. Hardy was a chief photographer at Picture Post during the 1940s and 50s and many of his images for the magazine are reproduced here. Chapters include The London Scene, People and Portraits, The Blitz, War in Korea, and Around Britain. Hardy's tough but sensitive photographs of slum-life, war and the blitz tell a thousand words.
