Barbara Hulanicki. Photographs by Helmut Newton. Illustrations by Barbara Hulanicki.

London. BIBA. [May 1969.] Printed wrappers. 12 pages, 2 gate-folds. 10 duotone photographs by Helmut Newton reproduced in various sizes, several across two pages or as a folding plate. 355 x 180mm (14 x 7"). 0.1kg. . English. Very good; slight rubbing to paper along edges, a couple of light creases, a light crease along lower half of catalogue; clean with no marks or tears.

In 1968 Barbara Hulanicki launched the first of her new-look BIBA catalogues. There were six in total and each one featured a different model and a different photographer (although Hans Feurer shot two). The catalogues were designed by John McConnell and featured the new art nouveau-inspired BIBA logo. Its elongated shape was specially designed to fit through the letter box. Each issue represented a complete collection designed by Hulanicki which was available through mail-order only. It was the first time that the complete BIBA look was captured and presented through photography. This present catalogue was the fourth published and was shot by Helmut Newton in his Paris studio. It features the models Donna Mitchell and Ingemari Johanson and hair by Didier. Unfortunately this and the fifth catalogue proved so popular that BIBA could not keep up with production and had to resort to selling part of the business to new financial backers.
Only one copy recorded in OCLC.
