Edited by Francoise Francisci. With additional text by Robert Wernick & Claude Delay. Photographs by Daniel Frasnay.Paris. Editions Eolia. 1986. First edition. Cloth-bound hardback, dust jacket. 116 pages. Many full-page b&w plates, plus some in colour. 285 x 250mm (11¼ x 9¾"). 1.1kg. 2905536039. French, with English translation. Very good; some light shelf wear to dust jacket, a couple of small nicks and creasing, plastic coating of jacket beginning to curl at outer edges; lightly bump to top forecorners; some faint speckling to cloth boards and endpapers; no inscriptions, jacket now preserved in archival plastic cover. The scarce first volume in a projected catalogue raisonne of the work of the French designer Diego Giacometti. The catalogue contains large full-page illustrations of nearly 100 of Giacometti's bronze designs - sculptures, lamps, chairs, decorative objects, tables, etc. The works are given a short description and dimensions but he did not use serial numbers on his designs so they are not dated. There are three essays on the artist in French, with an English translation. An important work of reference for dealers and collectors. It seems that no further volumes were published.
