Alongside 'Gio Ponti. The Complete Work 1923-1978', Ugo La Pietra's book is a definitive work on the designs of Gio Ponti. Since it's first publication in 1988 it has been revised twice and is now out of print and scarce. The book is split into chapters dedicated to each decade of Ponti's output, from the twenties to the seventies. The designs are extensively illustrated and are supported by numerous archival photographs and drawings. It covers all aspects of the designer's work - his ceramics for Richard Ginori, the Pirelli Tower in Milan, the Superleggera chair for Cassino, his furniture collaborations with Piero Fornasetti, his interiors for the Parco dei Principi Hotel and much more.
