Near fine; very light surface wear to dust jacket, internally very clean with no marks or inscriptions.Lillian Bassman was one of the great women photographers of the post-War period. She worked extensively with Harper's Bazaar and shot several advertising campaigns for clients such as Chanel and Balenciaga. With their blurred edges and unusual composition her fashion images had an abstract, dreamlike dimension, making Bassman one of the most creative fashion photographers of the twentieth-century. This was the first monograph published on the photographer and presents images from throughout her career. Martin Harrison supplies an essay A Life in Images.
