An exhibition catalogue on the work of the stage designer Lila de Nobili (1916-2002). Nobili was the niece of Marcel Vertes and designed the sets and costumes for numerous plays, operas and films. She worked with Luchino Visconti, Raymond Rouleau, Peter Hall, Franco Zeffirelli, among others. The exhibition was based around her artistic friendship with Yannis Tsarouchis. The pair occasionally collaborated and shared a common visual language, and several of their letters are reproduced. Over 200 of de Nobili's designs are illustrated here.
