A comprehensive illustrated dictionary of the members of the St. Ives Society of Artists. The Society was founded with the aim to support the artists of the art colony based in Cornwall and to promote their work through touring exhibitions. Members of the society during its first twenty-five years included Frank Brangwyn, Laura Knight, Stanley Spencer, Ben Nicholson, Barbara Hepworth, Wilhelmina Barns-Graham and Peter Lanyon. The book provides biographical notes of all 315 artists involved in the society, and doubles as the catalogue for a touring exhibition. Scarce in hardback.
