The first book to look exclusively at the fashion work of photographer Deborah Turbeville. Turbeville has selected the images, designed the layout and provided the text. The photographs are from 1970 until 2008 and were created for projects for Vogue, Ungaro, Vanity Fair, Mirabella, W Magazine, Elle, etc. Previously unpublished work includes photographs of Chanel's Paris apartment commissioned by Karl Lagerfeld. Turbeville's work straddles the divide between fashion photography and fine art photography. Her enigmatic images frequently depict an invented scenario, peopled by the fashion models acting as the cast.
