A charming catalogue created for the exhibitions celebrating the life and work of Balenciaga held at the Palacio de Bibliotecas y Museos and the Salas de la Direccion General de Bellas Artes in Madrid. The catalogue offers some written tributes to the designer, including from Pauline de Rothschild and Cecil Beaton. Many of the clothes included in the shows are illustrated, starting with his first designs in 1934 to the final ones before the house closed in 1968. On the cover is an image called 'Portada' created especially for the catalogue by Joan Miro as a homage to his friend and contemporary.
