An early publication of the Hogarth Press, containing short stories by Viriginia Woolf and original woodcuts by Vanessa Bell. The eight stories by Woolf are A Haunted House, A Society, Monday or Tuesday, An Unwritten Novel, The String Quartet, Blue and Green, Kew Gardens, and The Mark on the Wall. Woolf's sister, Vanessa provided four bold and striking wood-cuts to accompany the text, as well as the graphic cover design. Monday or Tuesdaywas published in an edition of 1,000 copies in Spring 1921. It was hand-set and printed by F. T. McDermott at The Prompt Press, Richmond, 'with Leonard's help and anguish.' (Woolmer. p. xxvi). It was the first of many titles by the Hogarth Press to appear in the Annals of English Literature, 1475-1950.
