Minoo Dinshaw's biography of the enigmatic English historian and diplomat Steven Runciman. Runciman was widely travelled, spoke many languages and frequently befriended members of the world's royal dynasties. During his time in Cambridge he became good friends with Cecil Beaton and despite appearing occassionally with the Bright Young Things he never fully entered their fold. Several of Beaton's photographs are illustrated.
