Paris 1962 brings together Jerry Schatzberg's behind-the-scenes photographs from the Yves Saint Laurent and Dior collections of 1962. The photographs were taken in Paris during a week in January which saw the showing of Yves Saint Laurent's first independent collection and Marc Bohan's collection for Dior. Schatzberg had been assigned by Esquire Magazine to take the images for a feature called 'The Silken Jungle'. The photos capture the back-stage behaviour of the designers, models, couture clients, photographers (including Norman Parkinson and Helmut Newton), and the fashion editiors. This is a signed, limited edition. A mass-market edition was published by Rizzoli in 2008.
