A study of Picasso's designs for the set and costume of Parade, first performed by the Ballets Russes in 1917. Parade brought twentieth-century modernism to Diaghilev's ballet audience. The scenario was by Cocteau, music by Satie and choreography by Massine. Picasso's original drawings are all reproduced, alongside photographs and illustrations. The book accompanied an exhibition at The Drawing Center, New York.
