A survey of the theatrical photographic work of Angus McBean. McBean spent the middle decades of the twentieth-century photographing the stars of the theatrical world, often with a surreal twist. He captured the great actors of the day, including Richard Burton, Laurence Olivier, Vivien Leigh, Paul Scofield, Edith Evans, Audrey Hepburn, Ingrid Bergman and John Gielgud. He also took photos on the sets of plays, operas and ballets. His portraits are generously reproduced here.
