Celebrating 30 years of the fashion house, this book unveils the life and career of the greatest living Italian couturier. It encompasses the universe of Valentino, including all of his clothes, objects and furnishings. The book is organised around a series of themes such as Red, Flowers, Black and White, Polka Dots, Applied Arts, Zoo, White, Folk, Fragments of Elegance and Divines. Many images were taken especially for the book, but there is also a vast amount of archival photographs shot by the likes of Helmut Newton, Irving Penn, Giovanni Gastel, Oliviero Toscani, Mario Testino, Dominique Issermann, Steven Meisel, etc. The models include Linda Evangelista to Christy Turlington and Jacqueline Onassis to Elizabeth Taylor. The book concludes with a visual history composed of sketches representing the different collections over Valentino's career.
