A nostalgic look at the legendary seven-storey department store that was Big Biba, signed by Biba founder Barbara Hulanicki. Big Biba launched in 1973 to great fanfare, it's purpose was to revolutionise shopping. The Biba fan could buy everything there from clothes to furnishings, from food (including Biba-branded baked beans) to cosmetics. Cocktails could be sipped on the roof garden amongst the flamingos or bands such as the New York Dolls could be enjoyed in the Rainbow Room. All this came at a cost and the store was closed in 1975.
