An early monograph on the work of the painter William Scott. The artist worked alongside Bowness to select the 149 paintings reproduced in the book, works created between 1938 and 1964. The book includes an essay in French by Michel Ragon, one in German by Werner Schmalenbach, and a biography, bibliography and list of exhibitions.
