The catalogue for an exhibition of Willy Maywald's fashion photographs. Maywald was born in Germany but spent most of his life working in Paris. As a lead photographer for Dior he captured the New Look and during the '40s, '50s and '60s photographed the designs of Dior, Fath, Chanel, Cardin, Balmain, Ricci and Heim. He was one of the first fashion photographers to take his models out onto the streets of Paris. His best work is illustrated here, alongside portraits of designers and behind the scenes photographs.
