About the Books

Can I see more images?
~ Please contact us if you require further images of a specific book.

Are your books new or old?
~ Books that are still in-print will usually be new. Those that are out-of-print will usually be pre-owned. The books we sell are all in good condition and any issues will be noted in the description.

What is the condition of the book?
~ The book's condition is described accurately in the listing. All dust jackets are protected with a plastic archival cover. Please contact us if you require any further condition details.

How do you establish a price for the books?
~ For books that are still in-print we will price the book at the publisher's recommended retail price or lower. For books that are out-of-print the price will reflect a fair market value and will be based on such factors as scarcity, condition, desirability, subject-matter and quality.

Shipping

How do I qualify for free shipping?
~ We offer free shipping on all full-priced purchases made directly through the Beaux Books website and sent to an address within the United Kingdom. Orders placed using the free shipping method will be sent by Royal Mail Standard Parcel Second Class post and will take approximately 3-6 business days to arrive. This service is not tracked, but is fully insured. Please upgrade to the Express service if you wish for your order to be tracked and arrive quicker.

Do you ship internationally?
~ Yes.

How are the books sent and when will they arrive?
~ We use a number of trusted shipping carriers, including Parcelforce, Royal Mail and Fedex. Express and Priority services will take between 1-4 business days within the UK, 2-7 business days to Europe and 3-10 business days to all other countries. Standard and Economy services will take 3-6 business days within the UK, 4-9 business days within Europe, and 5-15 business days to all other countries. If you are happy to wait for your books there is a 6-12 weeks economy option for countries outside of Europe.

When will I receive my pre-ordered book?
~ The publisher will send us the book as soon as it has been released and we will then forward it to you immediately. You will be sent an email confirming that the book has been shipped so you will know to expect it. We will keep you updated if the release date changes significantly.

Is my parcel trackable?
~ Express and Priority services are fully trackable and require a signature at the destination address. Standard and Economy services are not trackable, however all parcels are fully insured in transit.

I need the books quicker. Can you ship my order using another service?
~ If it is possible we are happy to send your parcel on a quicker service if you need it by a specific time. We can arrange shipping with the major carriers and couriers. We can also ship on your own account. Please contact us for details and a quote.

How do you calculate shipping charges?
~ The majority of our books are heavy hardbacks. Shipping charges are based on the weight of each book and its packaging. If your book order is particularly heavy we may contact you for extra shipping charges.

How do you pack the books?
~ All dust jackets are protected with a plastic archival cover. The books are wrapped in tissue and brown paper. They are placed in protective Novia Plus wrap, with heavy duty crush barrier, or in a well-cushioned cardboard box.

My parcel has not yet arrived. What should I do?
~ In the unlikely event that the estimated delivery time has elapsed please contact us and we will update you on its status.

Payment & Returns

What payment methods do you accept?
~ We accept payment by credit or debit card (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro). We also accept PayPal.
~ Payment can also be made by cheque or bank transfer in GBP. Please contact us for details on how to pay by these methods.

Can I return my purchase if I am not happy with it?
~ You may return your purchase providing we are given written notification of your intention within 30 working days of receipt. All we ask is that you return any books by the same or similar method of shipping by which they were sent. The price of the book will be refunded in full upon our receipt of the item in the same condition as you received it. Return postage will only be refunded if the book has been returned because it was wrongly described or damaged in transit. Please contact us with details of what you would like to return and why.

I have pre-ordered a book but have changed my mind. Can I cancel the order?
~ Yes, please contact us with the details and your payment will be refunded and the order cancelled. If the item has already been shipped then the normal returns procedure will apply.
