Good; general light wear to spine, edges and forecorners, title rubbed on spine, oxidisation to gold foil on boards (a frequent issue with this edition), lean to spine; stamped on the front free endpaper 'With the Compliments of Booth's Distilleries Ltd.', previous owner's inscription on dedication page 'Yrs Jo. Mais n'en fais pas ton lime de chevet!- London, Xmas 35-', pages 283-286 (the Note pages) have been excised and used for pencil notations but are loosely inserted, subsequent cut to margin of pages 281-282.A first edition of the iconic cocktail book. The book was compiled in the height of London's jazz age by Harry Craddock, the bartender at the Savoy Hotel. It features such liquid gems as 'Damn-the Weather Cocktail', 'Hanky Panky Cocktail', and the 'One Exciting Night Cocktail'. Our charming copy was clearly owned by a dedicated cocktail drinker. They have added their own notations at the rear and loosely inserted are several written and printed recipes for additional cocktails.
