A study of the life and work of the English artist, fashion illustrator and special agent Brian Stonehouse. Stonehouse trained as an artist but war intervened and saw him working as a Special Operations Executive agent in occupied France. He was captured and spent time in concentration camps, using his drawing skills to alleviate the hardship. Post-war he moved to America and worked as a fashion illustrator during the 1950s for clients including Vogue and Elizabeth Arden. The authors have delved into Stonehouse's papers to reveal his life story and work. The book is well illustrated with examples of his work, especailly his fashion drawings.
