A richly-illustrated two volume study of the Swiss textile design firm Abraham Ltd. The first volume provides a history of the company, delving into the archives (now held at the Swiss National Museum) to tell the story in words and pictures of the firm's founding in 1878 through to is closure in 2002. The second volume presents over 500 illustrations of the designs, patterns, and samples of the fabrics produced by Abraham as well as images of the elegant dresses created from their fabricss. Dresses from such couturiers as Balenciaga, Chanel, Dior, Givency, and Yves Saint Laurent. The History is in German and the Fabric Designs is in German and English.
