[Gianni Versace]
'So clear, so unmistakable in this collection is the singular vision that drove him: the endless, unquenchable search for the essence of beauty.' (Donatello and Santo Versace).
The auction catalogue for the sale of the Collection of Gianni Versace in 2001. The sale was predominantly made up of art and furnishings from Versace's Casa Casuarina, his South Beach palazzo in Malibu. The collection reflects the designer's eclectic taste, merging the Mediterranean with Miami style. It includes several pieces with Versace elements and fabrics, as well as original Versace drawings and clothes. The sale was followed by two further auctions in 2005 and 2009.
