A record of Charles de Beistegui's Venetian Palace and the famous ball he held there in 1951. The first volume explores the sumptuous architecture and decoration of the Palais Labia, with archival photographs of the interiors. The second volume celebrates the legendary fancy dress ball that took place at the palace in 1951. Archival photographs reveal the elaborate splendour of the setting and costumes. Reproduced are the thirteen watercolours that Alexandre Serebriakoff created as a record of the ball and which Beistegui had bound into an album that lived at Groussay.
